1. Santa Cruz, CA- This city is known internationally for being an amazing place to surf. Its beaches include Pleasure Point and Capitola Beach for beginners, as well as Steamer Lane for more experienced surfers.
2. Montauk, NY- New York is known for a lot of exciting things, but surfing typically isn’t one of them. However, this town has developed a lot in recent years and become a fun vacation destination, not to mention a great surfing hotspot!
3. Kill Devil Hills, NC- Another perfect place for a surfing vacay, Kill Devil Hills covers 100 miles and has plenty of hotels with ocean-front views to enjoy.
4. Ruggles, RI- Ruggles offers perfect surfing conditions all throughout the year, with larger waves during hurricane season that create a wild ride for an experienced surfer.
5. Cocoa Beach, FL- The home of surfing legend Kelly Slater is sure to provide great waves. Again, this beach offers great locations for beginners and experts and is also home to the famous surf shop Ron Jon.
6. South Padre Island, TX- Texas is another state that's not really classified as a surfing destination, but South Padre Island is a great place for all levels of surfers. The waves are pretty tame in the summer, but they really pick up during hurricane season.
7. Cape Lookout, OR- This surf spot is nestled within a state park and is known for having the best waves in the area.
