Display Cherished Photos Perfectly with These Cleaning Tips from GiftWorksPlus
GiftWorksPlus |
Spring is usually when people deep clean their homes and sort their closets. With splatters, dust, and sticky fingerprints fresh from the holidays, however, your picture frames are likely due for a cleaning now.
Don’t let precious photographs be obstructed by smudges! GiftWorksPlus is here to offer suggestions on cleaning up cherished Christmas decoration photo frames and family picture frames.
To clean your special picture gifts and custom frames, remove them from the display area. Whether perched on a shelf or a piece of furniture or mounted to the wall, carefully take your frame down and set it on a clean, flat surface.
If the frame is simply dusty, take a soft, clean cloth and gently remove the dust from edges, crevices, and glass. If your customized frames require a deeper cleaning from sticky touching and other signs of admiration, more care is involved.
For deep cleaning, GiftWorksPlus suggests you prepare to take the frames apart. First, remove the photograph from the frame and set it aside, away from dust or residue from cleaning solutions. Next, remove the glass from the frame. Using a special glass-cleaning solution and a soft cotton cloth, wipe away dirt and smudges. Set the glass aside.
Now, take a dry soft cloth to the frame to remove loose dust. For dust that has accumulated or settled into cracks and crevices, use a soft brush and/or cotton swabs to remove the dirt from embossed or engraved designs and scroll work. Now, wipe clean with the soft cloth.
One word of caution from GiftWorksPlus: if you are cleaning custom wooden frames, do not use water or liquid. This can potentially damage the wood and encourage permanent decay. For wooden photo frames, you may finish with a quick polish using a light wood oil.
