Fall Skincare Tips for Your Most Photogenic Skin Ever

How to keep fall skin hydrated

GiftWorksPlus |

Fall is the most beautiful time of year; however, the drier weather can wreak havoc on your skin. With the holidays approaching, it’s likely you’ll be posing for more family photos, so you’ll want to make sure your skin looks and feels it best this season. Try these helpful fall skincare tips to help get your skin camera ready!
  1. Switch Up Your Moisturizers - During the fall and winter months, it’s important to continue using a moisturizer with SPF protection, but rather than using a lighter product as you would in the summer, try using something a little thicker, especially if you’re prone to drier skin or if you spend a good amount of time outside in the cold.
  2. Consider Products with Aloe - If you had very sensitive skin, Ann Lee of Dermaesthetics Beverly Hills recommends using products that are ultra-soothing and moisturizing. Specifically, if you have skin conditions like psoriasis or eczema, look for products containing cold pressed aloe. Aloe is very soothing and is a great product for sensitive skin.
  3. Switch Up Your Cleansers - If your skin is oily or prone to breakouts, you’re likely using an oil-free cleanser. However, if the cold air is leaving your skin feeling dry, you should consider an oil-based cleanser or scrub, which will be less harsh on your skin during the cooler months.
  4. Exfoliate Only Once in A While – Your skin is much more prone to dryness and irritability during the winter months, so exfoliating less frequently will still help remove dead skin, but it won’t cause redness or dryness.
  5. Always Stay Hydrated - This is a bit of a no-brainer, but we had to include this tip, as it’s so important! It’s easier to remember to drink water when it’s 90 degrees and humid out, but in the winter, you still need to be getting your 8 glasses (or 2 liters) of water per day—regardless of whether your skin is dry, oily, or combination. Another great tip is to use a humidifier at night.
