Fall is here and school is starting back up! At GiftWorksPlus, we know that while for kids this is a fun time to see all their friends and get back to their favorite after-school activities, this time can be a bit hectic for parents. This week we wanted to share some tips for parents to help keep the family organized and healthy as the kids head back to school.
Invest in a large calendar.
These are brilliant because you can get a large paper calendar to keep on a desk, or pick up a magnetic white board calendar to keep on the refrigerator. Either way, a large, month-long calendar will give everyone in the family the opportunity to write down events, due dates, birthdays, and more. Keeping one in a spot where you can see it every day will no doubt help you stay on top of your family’s commitments.
Keep a small stock of school supplies.
Always grab a few extra pencils, pens, notebooks, and folders to keep in the house. These always come in handy as the school year progresses and things start to go missing.
Keep everyone stocked on health supplies.
This may just prove to be crucial this year! Health supplies can include everything from hand sanitizer and disinfectants to vitamins, tissues, and of course plenty of masks! See if you can make a baggy of hand sanitizers, tissues, and masks for your kids to keep in their lockers and for you to keep in the car.
Plan out meals at the start of the week.
This is always easier said than done. But this year, set a weekly alarm on your phone to plan out dinners for the week. Personally, I find doing this Sunday evening helps me stay organized throughout the week. As you're planning, make sure to look at your calendar so you can track any dinnertime conflicts. Some days you may have time to make a large meal, other days it’s easier to simply do a frozen pizza! You can even keep this meal planner note pad by the calendar to help you remember.
