- Don’t be camera shy! This tip is important because sometimes amazing shots happen when you aren’t expecting it. If you see something cool, even if it’s something you see every day, don’t hesitate to snap a pic!
- Practice! Certain phone cameras may take great pictures during the day but at night the pictures come out blurry. Practice taking shots all throughout the day and you’ll get to know your phone’s camera better.
- Get more stable shots! Hold the phone with both hands and try using the shutter button/volume buttons to take a burst of photos!
- Keep the lens clean! We use our phones so often throughout the day that they are bound to get dirty! Simply wiping off the lens can make a huge difference.
- Don’t zoom! Zooming in on a phone’s camera can really warp the clarity of the picture, so if you want a closer pic, get up and move!
- Take plenty of pictures! If you have more to choose from, you’ll end up with better shots. Even when you’re taking photos of nature, explore different angles, perspectives, and filters to find your favorites.
- Print your pictures! If you’ve taken some beautiful pictures, they should live on in places other than social media. Get them printed and frame your photos, turn them into a post card and send them out to friends, or have them put on a magnet or mug to give as a gift!
