GiftWorksPlus’ Favorite Summer Camping Spots

It seems like summer is already flying by, but it’s not too late to plan a couple more fun activities! Although it’s tough to get everyone on board for more summer adventure, especially if your kids like to spend the day looking at their phones, there’s nothing like camping to get everyone ready to unplug and unwind! Here are a few of our favorite campsites in the United States that you’ll want to consider before planning your upcoming family camping trip!

1. Tillicum Beach Campground in Portland, Oregon. Tillicum Beach is a part of the Siuslaw National Forest and offers camping right on the beach! In addition to traditional camping activities, you’ll definitely want to set aside some time for whale watching along the coast!
2. Ryan Campground- Twentynine Palms, California. For something completely different, swap the coastal retreat for a desert getaway at the Ryan Campground. This campground is located right in the heart of Joshua Tree National Park, close to riding and hiking trails. Be prepared to take plenty of gorgeous shots of the night sky while you’re there- but be sure to bring plenty of water, it is the desert after all.
3. Hurricane River Campground- Grand Marais, MI. If you’re looking for a picturesque location for your next camping trip- you can’t go wrong with the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore! The Hurricane River Campground will have you right on the coast of Lake Superior, perfect for canoeing and kayaking. And for the history buffs, you can’t miss the chance to see the “Graveyard Coast” of shipwrecks. Some are visible from the shoreline but others are best seen on a glass bottom cruise!
4. Sandy Pines Campground- Kennebunkport, ME. If you’re not one for “rough'n it” and would prefer a more luxurious getaway, you have to check out Sandy Pines! It’s one mile from the beach, offers plenty of family friendly activities, and provides glamping (glamorous + camping) retreats!
