If your child is headed back to school this fall, chances are there are a few changes you’ll need to prepare for. Whether it’s wearing masks, attending smaller class sizes, or learning completely from home, this school year will no doubt be different than the rest.
We all know that any type of drastic change can cause a little stress and anxiety. If your child is feeling nervous about going back to class, here are some tips to help your kids get ready to make this their best year yet!
4 Back to School Tips
-
Get Stocked Up! Pick up a few packs of masks, hand sanitizers, and disinfecting wipes to keep in the car, backpacks, and in lockers. This way you’re always prepared, protected, and you won’t have to make any mad dashes home because you forgot your mask!
-
Stay in Communication! By reaching out to friends and fellow classmates, you’ll be able to stay up to date on how they, too, are handling the protocols, managing different class schedules, as well as how classes (online or in person) are going. You may be able to help them out, or pick up a few tips yourself!
-
Reach Out to Teachers and Professors! If your child is struggling in a class or having issues staying focused while learning from home, don’t hesitate to reach out to your kid's instructor for ideas. Send a quick email and request some extra tips!
-
Find Time to Chill! The new school year can always bring a little anxiety, but this school year has come with a myriad of new issues. Therefore, it's important for your mental and physical wellbeing to take at least a half hour a day to unplug and do something relaxing. Encourage your kids to do the same. This can be watching some TV, reading a book, listening to a comedy podcast, chatting with friends, or exercising. Anything that gets your mind on something else for a little bit is good!
